FIRST EDITION of a work describing the procession through Turin of Carlo Emmanuele II and his bride, Elizabeth of Lorraine, on the night of April 21, 1737. The text is divided into two parts, one entirely in Italian and the other in French. The engravings show the illuminations of various buildings and specially constructed arches and statues for the event, as well as the firework machine depicting the sources of the River Po, which was probably designed by Giovanni Battista Borra. The festivities ended with a public exhibition of the Holy Shroud on 4th May, also described in the text. Berlin Kat. 3072; Lipperheide Si 44; Vinet 600.
