LIMITED TO 100 COPIES. A FITTING MONUMENT TO GONDOIN'S NEO-CLASSICAL MASTERPIECE, THE ÉCOLE DE MÉDECINE IN PARIS. Louis XVI laid the foundation stone for this royal commission in 1769 and the building was completed in 1775. The anatomy theatre became a prototype for various legislative buildings, including Latrobe's House of Representatives in Washington. The plates show the original site near the Luxembourg palace on which the establishment was built, plans, elevations, sections, views, and details of the decoration. Brunet II.1663.
