Iran, 10th/11th century
comprising sura xi, Hud, part v.124 to sura xii, Yusuf, part v.1, manuscript on vellum, each side with four lines of well-formed brown eastern kufic, pointing in black, green and blue, vocalisation in red and yellow, one side with sura heading in white eastern kufic on gold illuminated panel of arabesque lozenges within a rope pattern border with marginal gold and polychrome palmette, the end of the previous sura marked with a similar small roundel, later marginal naskh inscriptions, (very slight staining, corner repaired), mounted and framed with double-sided glass
