A FINE KASHAN TURQUOISE, COBALT BLUE AND BLACK SMALL FOOTED TRAY with very shallow conical base, inverted sides and flat everted rim resting on three stylised birds, the interior painted in black under the turquoise glaze with a central fish roundel flanked by floral motifs within a border of silhouetted flowing naskh calligraphy, the rim plain cobalt, the exterior of the sides with a similar band of silhouetted inscription above a cobalt blue band, the birds painted under the glaze with simple banded decoration, 13th century (repaired, one foot restored)
