A FINE PAIR OF FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS with heavy browned twist octagonal scratch rifled sighted barrels each with case-hardened recessed patent breech with platinum line, platinum-lined maker's stamp, and platinum touch-hole, engraved case-hardened tangs, signed and engraved case-hardened detented locks each with roller, engraved safety-catch, rainproof pan and patent steel numbered 4128 and 4163 respectively, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered butts, engraved blued iron mounts including numbered trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, vacant silver escutcheons, horn fore-end caps, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, original horn-tipped ramrods, and most of their original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including three-way flask covered in red leather, the lid with trade label and flush-fitting carrying handle (key-hole escutcheon missing, one compartment lid cracked), by Joseph Manton, London, No. 5163 for 1810
