A PAIR OF FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS with twist octagonal sighted barrels, each breech with gold line, gold-lined maker's stamp, and gold-lined touch-hole, the tangs each engraved with a trophy of arms, signed and engraved detented case-hardened bevelled locks each with roller, gold-lined semi-rainproof pan, and large safety-catch also locking the steel, figured walnut full stocks (lightly bruised) each carved in relief with a floral spray around the barrel tang, the butts cut with characteristic chequering, engraved iron mounts in the French manner, blued set triggers, horn fore-end caps (one chipped), and horn-tipped ramrods (one associated), by Durs Egg, London, circa 1790
