Lot Essay

Albert Dominique Rosé was born in Amiens in 1861 and modelled works for production by Friedrich Goldscheider.

Friedrich Goldscheider was the founder of the Goldscheider firm operating in Vienna and ran the factory from it's beginning in 1885 to his death in 1897, whereupon his brother, Alois, and his wife Regina took over. Early production included terracotta busts and figures, mainly of Middle Eastern inspiration.
