A PAIR OF JAPANESQUE RETICULATED TUSK VASES painted in blue and white enriched in gilding, the cylindrical double-walled vases with outer walls pierced with cranes among pine, prunus and bamboo above moulded sprigs flowers and bamboo and below gilt clouds and gilt-line rims, the lower bodies moulded with rocks among crashing waves (one with firing crack to neck interior, small chip to rim and slight damage to pierced decoration, wear to gilding at rims), puce printed marks, one with impressed mark and incised number 238, date codes for 1875
