Title in red and black, full-page woodcut of English royal arms on verso of F3, with final blank F4, 12 blank leaves bound between Bb4 and a1 containing 16th century manuscript exemplar copies of legal formularies, petitions, charters, etc., marginal manuscript annotations in ink (occasional ink blobs, some staining in lower margins). Early-19th-century straight-grained red morocco gilt by Lewis, Duke of Devonshire arms on covers, in velvet-lined morocco case. Provenance: Possibly in York in 1534 (on the last blank leaf is a manuscript draft of a grant by the Abbot of the Cathedral Priory of York for the living and rentals from land of the Church at Kirkbey, Rawensworth in the deaconry of Richmond, Yorkshire); The Duke of Devonshire (Chatsworth bookplate); Frank Heyworth Talbot (bookplate).
