A BRONZE PENDANT RELIQUARY CROSS
ASIA MINOR/PALESTINE, 6TH TO 9TH CENTURY

Hinged at bottom, the suspension loop forming part of the clasp at the top, engraved on one side with the Virgin praying, identified by an inscription, and on the other side with a cruciform pattern with five settings for glass inlay, now embellished with gold leaf.
Some damage to lower hinge; the gold leaf later.
