A CAVALRY SWORD with straight double-edged blade with central fuller on each face of the forte incised '1414', a running wolf mark, and a mark comprising a pair of scorpions, struck thrice, blackened iron hilt comprising figure-eight shaped shell supporting a half-basket of slender bars, some interrupted by knops, thumb-ring, short rear quillon, bun-shaped pommel, and wire-bound wooden grip, in original leather-covered wooden scabbard (lower end missing) with iron frog-hook; and another, similar, the blade with double fuller on each face of the forte engraved respectively 'Sebastian' and 'Hernantez', bright iron hilt (pitted) similar to the last, and spirally grooved wooden grip (slightly wormed, wire binding missing), both Dutch or German, mid-17th Century
