A FINE SILESIAN WHEEL-LOCK TSCHINKE with blued swamped octagonal sighted barrel rifled with six grooves and with three panels of punched and gilt decoration (back-sight altered and with later gilt cover), characteristic blued and gilt lock with external mechanism, the gilt fences with punched ornament (blueing and gilding later), the cock engraved with foliage, full stock profusely inlaid with horn animals, monsters, demi-figures, birds, scrolls and pellets (minor replacements) enriched with mother-of-pearl, blued iron trigger-guard (blueing later), and bone-tipped ramrod, retaining much original finish, second quarter of the 17th Century
