A PAIR OF FRENCH PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS with browned etched twist octagonal rifled sighted barrels, dated barrel lugs, border engraved case-hardened breech tangs and breeches numbered 1 and 2 in gold, border engraved locks and mounts retaining some of their dull grey finish, the former signed 'Fabque De Givord A Troyes' in gold, the latter including spur trigger-guards and baluster pommels, figured walnut half-stocks carved with foliage in low relief against a stippled ground on the fore-ends, fluted butts, and set triggers: in original relined and fitted veneered case decorated with brass stringing (one piece loose), and with accessories including bullet-mould and flask, the lid with engraved brass escutcheon, St. Etienne proof marks, dated 1846
