A PAIR OF BELGIAN PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS with rebrowned twist octagonal sighted rifled barrels signed 'H. Jaquet A Genève' in gold on the top flat, case-hardened breech tangs and breeches numbered 1 and 2, the former with blued adjustable back-sights, the locks and mounts retaining their dull grey finish, the latter including spur trigger-guards and shaped pommels, highly figured walnut half-stocks carved with foliage in low relief against a stippled ground on the fore-ends, fluted butts, and blued set triggers: in original fitted wooden case lined in green velvet and with accessories (two missing) including bullet mould and flask, the lid with brass escutcheon engraved with owner's initials, Liège proof, No. 20428, circa 1850
