Giramonte's letter of 17 March 1579(n.s.) raises various questions resulting from the new 'conventione' that had been agreed between Raffaello Carli, Carlo Pitti and Ammanati. Such a convenzione was drawn up on 19 July 1577, setting salaries and the quantities of marble to be extracted and worked. Raffaello Carli had been appointed capomaestro of the quarries.
