Yuan dynasty, 14th century
Jingdezhen ware, one hollow-molded as a seated figure wearing a bead necklace, with a small aperture in the right shoulder, the spout of the vessel formed by the double-gourd slung over his back; the other, which also serves as a brushrest, formed as a mountain with five peaks rising from rippling water, with a small aperture in one peak and a spout rising from another, both covered with a thin amber glaze falling irregularly above the flat base
