The case with detachable cover with pineapple finial, opening to the movement, a gilt-bordered reserve to the rear painted with a youth in a garden, with foliate cast handles, on spreading socle and scroll feet, the white enamel Roman dial with gilt star minute markers, signed Gavelle L'ainé à Paris, with gilt-metal hands, damages to winding holes, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell and later platform lever escapement -- 13½in.
