Together forming a pictorial scene of two figures hunting on horseback, the forward figure being attacked by a lion, a third figure standing with gun, in a stylised landscape with a variety of animals and birds, buildings and mountains in the background, in a yellow cusped border of arcading containing roses between plain stripes, each tile stanped on the reverse with the maker's name and date

Lot Essay

The tiles unusually are arranged in staggered rows which stops the designs appearing so interrupted by the divisions.
