Thomas Manton (b. 1758), first cousin to John and Joseph, probably learnt his trade under Newton of Grantham. He moved to London in 1810 and worked at 144 Long Acre from 1817 to 1825. It is unlikely that he made many firearms, and few examples of his work survive
