Hand-coloured engraved wall-map of Asia on 4 sheets with decorative borders, overall 1000 x 1190mm, map of Asia set within an elaborate border in 3 sections, with 2 separate section for the general title along upper margin, the borders incorporating 22 vignette scenes and explanatory texts. (The sheets, mounted and laid down on linen, including 3 cut-out border sections, a few minor repairs.)
A fine late eighteenth-century wall-map of Asia, a reissue of Nolin's 1760 copy of the Danet's map of 1724. The elaborate borders derive from de Fers' map of Asia, circa 1700.
