A BERLIN DARK-BLUE-GROUND OGEE-SHAPED VASE AND FLUTED COVER, with a large flower finial, the two handles modelled with two female's heads with dressed hair, wearing fluttering green scarves about their bosoms, the front painted with two river-gods and a naiad forming a stone fountain in a wooded mountainous lakescape with swans and statuary, the reverse with a statue of two figures surrounded by flowers above a waterfall, each scene enclosed within a gilt and coloured flower and foliage-scroll cartouche below a flared neck pierced with vertical lozenges and pendant husks, mounted with a gilt-metal ring at the lower body, on a spreading circular stem and square base (finial and details of handles with chips and one small repair), blue sceptre mark, iron-red KPM and globe mark, circa 1880
