Lot Essay

The elliptical pier card-table, inlaid with husks festooning the legs and radiating from a demi-patera on the top, is designed in the George III antique style of the late 1770's. A commode pattern, engraved in A. Hepplewhite & Co's Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Guide, 1788, displays similar features
