AN INDIAN ENAMELLED SILVER AND INSET JADE SWEETMEAT DISH, comprising a central octagonal silver box with jade cover inset with gold and foiled rubies forming floral designs around a diamond within enamelled blue borders, flanked by eight radiating lobed similar boxes, the four large examples with hinged jade covers inset with gold and floral carved beryl forming foliate designs, the four smaller separate jade covers with ruby and gold floral designs, the sides of all eight cusped boxes enamelled in blue, green and turquoise with birds and floral sprays, resting in fitted silver tray with cusped raised rim on four cast lion feet, enamelled in a variety of colours with confronted lions and elephants amidst dense foliage, the cusps of the rim with birds and floral sprays, probably Lucknow, early 19th century (very slight damage to enamels and loss of a very few stones)
