Circular, decorated with Gothic window designs, the first predominantly in reds, greens, blue and yellow, the second and third of dark blue, red, greens and orange, all with gilt decoration, marked under bases

Lot Essay

The Gothic plates, inspired by designs of stained-glass windows, were originally made as a set of 66 dessert plates in 1831, and intended for use with His Majesty's Own Service at the Cottage Palace at Peterhof.
