This is a particularly good example of the 11,000 or so marine chronometers made by the Hamilton Watch Co., beginning in 1940.
The name "Hamilton" was selected to honour Andrew Hamilton the original owner of the land at Lancaster which was gifted to him by the heirs of William Penn
