ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM, 10 leaves, plus 4 blank leaves at the front and 6 at the rear, the first two and last two leaves of text interleaved with red silk guards, written in an upright roman script in black with some initial words or letters in red or blue, 6 initials slightly larger in red or blue with penwork decoration in blue or red, the title in red incorporating a very large historiated initial O and a vignette of a garden with peacocks at the foot, the first word of the text in gold incorporating a large historiated initial G with a full-page border, page numbered 18 with large initial F on a gold ground, page numbered 19 with a vignette view of a castellated house from a garden. (Slight red-staining of borders of first two leaves.) Original dark brown blind-stamped morocco, antique, titled in gilt on spine, vellum liners and doublures,.g.e., by Bumpus (spine and small section of upper cover slightly faded). Provenance: Ethel de Forest (bookplate dated 1907).
