Maker's mark of William Cripps, London, 1750, handle bolted in and not marked
Oval, on four corkscrew and foliate supports, the sides pierced with panels of quatrefoils and scrolls, the ground engraved with coat-of-arms within rocaille, floral and foliate scroll surround terminating in garland crowned mask, with applied openwork fruited grapevine rim, with conforming and wheat sheaf decorated joins, to the part decorated molded swing handle, engraved with crest--13½in. (34.2cm.) long, 60.5oz.
