A DARK AGE EUROPEAN GOLD AND SAPPHIRE RING, the circular hoop broadening at the shoulder with a bezel in the form of two inverted openwork cones set with pale blue sapphires (one possibly a modern replacement), the bezels are separated by two S-shaped scrolls, 7th Century A.D.
