Persian manuscript on cream paper, 14ll. of extremely elegant black nasta'liq in two columns, divisions and margins of gold meandering vine within gold and black rules, outer panel with text written diagonally within gold, orange, green and red margins between black rules and with illuminated triangles depicting birds, headings in gold, (negligible spotting), on a green or pink leaf painted with gold and contrasting colour with birds catching insects among foliage (damage and repairs to edges), recto of one folio with a gold and polychrome gouache illustration in place of the main text showing Yusuf and Zulaikha as an old woman, signed upper left by Mushfiq and dated 1015, (short split at margin, otherwise excellent condition), verso with extremely finely painted gold and polychrome illuminated heading for the Iskandernameh, probably Herat, (negligible spotting, small area of discolouration from recto)
