the renowned love-lyrics of Jami, Persian manuscript on light buff paper, 128ff., each with 15ll. of elegant black nasta'liq in two columns interspersed with a central couplet, gold intercolumnar divisions and margin between black rules, occasional words in gold, (some water-marking and spotting, misbound and possibly incomplete), opening folio with a gold and polychrome illuminated heading, with FIVE CONTEMPORARY MINIATURES illustrating the text (slight wear and overpainting), contemporary dark brown morrocco binding with gold and black stamped floral central medallion and spandrels (light wear, repairs), brown morocco doublures with gold, black, blue and green decoupé medallion and spandrels (light wear and staining)
