A FINE MAMLUK REVIVAL GOLD AND SILVER AND COPPER INLAID BRASS KURSI OF HEXAGONAL CYLINDRICAL FORM, the flat top with a central pierced roundel around the gold name 'Muhammad' within a broad border of inverted knotted kufic, within a band of pierced palmette vine, on a ground of pierced scrolling arabesques with gold and silver inlaid interlaced roundels alternating with silver arabesque pendants within a border of silver Mamluk thuluth honorific titles, five of the sides with a pierced lattice around a cusped palmette and silver inscription concentric roundel, the sixth with pierced and inlaid doors between pierced panels of thuluth honorifics flanking central bird and inscription roundels between floral, inscription and chevron bands, similar arch panels below, resting on turned feet with similar silver decoration linked by a silver inscription band, late 19th century
