Lot Essay

The monogram stands for Louis-Stanislas-Xavier (1775-93), brother of Louis XV, Comte de Provence, who protected the factory which was founded in 1771 by Deruelle. Moitte, Deruelle's son-in-law, succeeded him and maintained the factory until at least 1798
