Jaguar's acquisition of The Daimler Motor Company in 1960 resulted in the demise of the SP250 sports car, but provided Jaguar with the excellent 2½-litre V8 engine. This was installed into the Jaguar Mk II bodyshell and introduced in 1961 as the new V8 250 saloon. Aesthetically the cars were the same except for the traditional Daimler fluted radiator and a higher standard of interior. The performance was equal to the Jaguar 2.4-litre version, but was quieter and more refined, and the general road holding considered superior

This 1968 model is in fair condition and has the standard Borg-Warner three speed automatic gearbox.
