1961 ALVIS TD21 DROPHEAD COUPE

Registration No. 735 BYK
Chassis No. 26560
Engine No. 26560
Red with beige leather interior

Engine: six cylinder, 2,993cc, 115bhp at 4,000rpm; Gearbox: automatic; Brakes: front, disc, rear, drums; Suspension: front, independent coil, rear, semi-elliptic live axle. Right hand drive.

Alvis's 3-litre was their last all new car. It lasted until the end of production in 1967 after Rover had acquired the Alvis Company. The 3-litre appeared as the TA21, TB21, TC21 and TC21/100 and then in 1958 the TD21 was introduced.

The coachwork was produced by Park Ward and this car is one of the more desirable drophead coupe versions. It has spent many years of its life in the South of France and has always been serviced. The paintwork and interior are in good condition, but the chromework is a little dull. The car runs well and we hope that there will be a new MoT by the time of the auction.
