The Austin Seven (the fifth car of this name), or Mini as it is more commonly known, was an outstanding contribution to automotive history. Designed by Alec Issigonis, it first appeared in 1959 and was quite revolutionary in terms of its ingenuity, performance and value for money. It employed a new formula of transverse engine, gearbox in sump, front wheel drive and rubber suspension. It also was remarkably spacious for such a small vehicle and had a performance (and economy) coupled with superb roadholding. Its success is legend.

This fine manual example was acquired by the current owner at the end of 1990 and has undergone a comprehensive rebuild. The engine was rebuilt and the body stripped, repaired and renovated where necessary and then repainted. While the paintwork today is not described as excellent it is in good condition and the bodyshell is extremely sound following the restoration. There are invoices available for the work. The Mini has a current MoT certificate.
