With rebrowned twist barrels (some minor pitting) inscribed on the broad elevated rib 'Joseph Manton's New Improvements by His Majesty's Patent', and with silver fore-sight, recessed patent breeches each with water-drain and countersunk platinum-lined touch-hole, shaped tang finely engraved with flower-heads and scrollwork on a hatched ground, signed engraved flat bevelled locks (retaining screw replaced) each with roller, stepped tail, rainproof pan, platinum-lined gravitating stop, and signed patent steel (refaced) numbered respectively '6301' and '6302', figured walnut half-stock (a working replacement with minor repairs), chequered grip and fore-end, finely engraved iron mounts, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, and brass- mounted ramrod, the barrels forged by Charles Lancaster
