Signed Gio. Botti, circa 1730
With sighted two-stage barrel with a ring at the muzzle, engraved 'Lazarino Cominazzo' on the fluted octagonal breech, and with stepped ramp at the rear, plain tang with folding back-sight, signed rounded lock struck on the inside with a locksmith's mark, 'CF'(?) crowned, and partly chiselled in relief in the Brescian manner with monster-heads and scrollwork on a punched ground, moulded varnished figured walnut full stock with fluted butt, and cheek-piece, gilt-brass mounts cast and chased in relief in the Brescian manner, gilt-brass fore-end cap, trigger-plate and ramrod-pipes en suite, and original ramrod with gilt-brass tip, in virtually unused condition throughout, and retaining its barrel tampion
