A Rare 40-Bore Dutch Three-Barrel Flintlock Sporting Gun
17th 18th Century
With hand-rotated two-stage sighted barrels each engraved 'Lazarino Cominazzo' on the breech (spelt 'Comenazza' on one) and released by a chiselled catch in front of the trigger-guard, the underside stamped with 'CMAL' mark, flat bevelled back-action lock engraved with hatched foliated scrollwork, pierced flat cock engraved with a monster, moulded figured walnut butt (chipped), iron top-strap bearing a brass back-sight, cast and chased bronze mounts including pierced side-plate involving a charioteer, and brass escutcheon with coronet above, four faceted brass ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrod (trigger-guard repaired, fore-stock chipped and cracked)
