A Fine 26-Bore D.B. Flintlock Carriage Pistol

With two-stage barrels each chiselled on the octagonal breech with panels of rococo ornament in low relief enclosing a scroll signed 'Bunney: London' on the top flat, all on a punched ground, silver fore-sight, three barrel-bolts, grooved engraved tang, signed border engraved bevelled locks decorated with foliage and with engraved safety-catches (one cock and both lock retaining screws expertly replaced), figured walnut full stock carved in relief with shells at the barrel tang (small chip from fore-end tip), engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with first pattern acorn finial, and spurred pommel with cast and chased silver grotesque mask cap, silver escutcheon, and original horn-tipped ramrod (some minor surface pitting, mainly at the touch-holes), Tower private proof marks
