The identification of the sitter is based on another autograph version of this miniature by Saint, formerly in the collection of the Marquis de Ségur, Château de Méry-sur-Oise, part II sold Hôtel Drouot, Paris, 17 April 1975, lot 81, now in a Continental private collection.
