built by Maxwell Hemmens, with brazed copper boiler with 'J' tubes and fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, clack and blowdown valves, the engine with details including cylinders approx. ¾in. bore x 1in. stroke, cylinder head lubricators, oil box and pipework to motion bearings, scotch cranks and direct-coupled pumps with twin outlets and change-over cock, expansion dome, eccentric-driven feed pump and shut-off cock, the chassis with details including channel section frame, water tanks, metal-tyred wooden spoked wheels with brass hubcaps, working leaf springs, turning lock with coal bunker, wooden body with suction hose, handbrakes to rear wheels, working bell, lamps (one detached), footboards and other details, finished in red and black and highly polished brightwork -- 14 x 23in. (35.5 x 58.5cm.)
