A Meissen group of Europe from "The Four Continents" series
19th century, marked with underglaze blue crossed swords and Pressmarke H
Inspired by the original model by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1746), gilt and painted in colours, modelled as an elegant crowned lady, wearing; an ermine-lined flower-enhanced cloak and a dress decorated with precious gems, holding a sceptre in her right and an orb in her left hand, seated on a plinth flanked by a large globe, books, a pallet and various trophies, further with a large light brown horse with long elaborate tail and curly manes standing behind her, on rectangular grassy plinth (small restorations to her shoes and to the horse's ears)
