A Höchst "Genreszenen" coffee and tea service
1765-1775, variously marked with underglaze blue crowned spoked wheel (Radmarke), some with overglaze purple and russet spoked wheels, various Presszeichen and Ritzzeichen N1 etc.
Painted in colours and gilt to the edges, depicting various genre scenes after D. Teniers or E. Nilson with merry peasant folks at various pursuits, further with insects and tiny flowersprays, upon grassy vignettes, the spouts and scrolled handles enhanced with purple, comprising: a baluster coffee pot with double-scrolled handle, the spout with rocailles in relief, the domed cover en suite with berry finial, 22.5cm. high; a flattened bun-shaped teapot with double-scrolled handle and animal spout, the flat cover en suite with berry finial, 18cm. wide; a cylindrical teacaddy and cover en suite 13cm. high; a circular sugar bowl and cover en suite, 10.5cm. diam.; a shaped pattipan, 19cm. wide; a brothbowl, 15.5cm. diam.; six cups and saucers (damages) See illustration (12)

Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at 20.825% of the hammer price for each lot with a value up to €90,000 (NLG 198.334). If the hammer price of a lot exceeds €90,000 then the hammer price of a lot is calculated at 20.825% of the first €90,000 plus 11.9% of any amount in excess of €90,000.
