A Meissen two-handled potpourri vase
Circa 1760
Gilt and painted in colours, the square tapering body decorated with two cartouches depicting peasants at various pursuits, applied with two female heads and flower garlands, with flowering branch handles, the neck pierced with stylised leaves, raised on a foot surrounded by three putti, two holding a large swan, one seated on a vessel with a stream of water flowing from it, below a large shell upholding the vase, on circular rocaille base (the foot restored)
