A Meissen rococo two-handled centre-piece
Circa 1760, marked with blue crossed swords to the base, one figure marked to the back with small underglaze blue crossed swords
(Tafelaufsatz) gilt and painted in colours, modelled with a central tree entwined with a pink ribbon, its branches blossoming with various flowers, surrounded by gallant figures; two of a young maiden holding up her skirt as a pastry container, and two of a gentleman holding up a basket, the shaped rocaille base painted allover with bouquets of Deutsche Blumen and moulded with eight sections for sweetmeat or pastry, with rocaille acanthus leaf handles (chips and restoration)
