A PAIR OF MASSIVE VIENNA STYLE COBALT-BLUE GROUND VASES, COVERS AND STANDS
Mid-to-late 19th century, blue beehive marks
Each with small domed cover above a waisted pierced neck, the handles as gilt goatheads, the center painted with putti in clouds within a quatrefoil cartouche on a continuous band finely painted with allegorical figures in landscape, the tapering lower section moulded and gilt with acanthus, on a waisted socle and high stepped cylindrical plinth moulded with oak wreaths, the blue ground enriched allover in white enamel and gilt with bands of stylized foliage
