Chancery 4° (209x145mm). Collation: a-r8.4 s6 (a1r title, woodcut, a1v register, a2r text, s6r colophon and device, s6v blank). 110 leaves. 51 lines and headline, double column. Type: 3a:180G (title, headlines), 4:64G (commentary), 5:93G (text), printed guide-letters. One woodcut, printer's device (Weil 45), 2- to 7-line initial spaces, only those on 1v, 2r and 5v filled in in red, red capital strokes and underlining on a1-2, initials on 5v supplied in later pen and ink. (Bifolium s1/6 rehinged, small tear in s6 repaired affecting a few letters.) Modern vellum over pastepaper boards. Provenance: contemporary annotations in a German hand, including an epilogue on classical metrics on final blank verso.
The woodcut of Calvary was first used by Furter in his edition of Guillermus Postilla in 1491. It engendered a number of subsequent copies by other printers.
