Cf. F. et N. Hervouet and Y. Bruneau, op. cit., who illustrate a similar saucer, stating that it is a copy of an engraving by N. Le Mire after Eisen, illustrating 'Zelis au bain', a poem by Masson de Pezay published in 1763. Certain similar designs are depicted without the cherub; D. Howard and J. Ayers, op. cit., vol II, no.352, for an ovoid teapot with the same pattern; J.A.L. Hyde, op.cit., pl.4, no.IV, who illustrates a lobed hexagonal teapot stand from the same service, suggesting that the scene is very similar to an engraving by Moreau le Jeune who illustrated 'Les Chansons' by La Borde; Keyes, op. cit., E. Gordon ed., p.33, fig 5, for another very similar teabowl and saucer

Two further services are known with very similar designs, but decorated in famille rose enamels, evidently drawn from the same original; one contained a saucer-dish, now in the Museo Nacional de Arte e Antigua, Lisbon, which was exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1984, Catalogue no. 48; from the second service, F. et N. Hervouet and Y. Bruneau, op. cit., no. 9.7, illustrate a tea-caddy
