Lot Essay

Production of this model, reference 2443, was launched in 1948. Very few examples in platinum were produced, and the present lot is believed to be the only one to have been offered at auction with a diamond-set dial.

The Extract from the Archives indicates that this watch was produced in 1951 with the diamond-set dial and sold on 11 February 1952.

Another example of this model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, 2nd edition, p.134.
