Yaacov Agam, born in 1928 Palestine (now Israel), was at the forefront of the optical and kinetic art movement in the 1950s. His work explores how when shapes change and move, they suggest a sense of development and growth - a journey through space and time.
Movado's Artists' Series asked major artists of the last century to approach timekeeping within their specific artistic style. Agam discards the traditional approach of hands rotating around a dial, and conveys that with simple moving shapes, such as triangles and rectangles, one's perspective can be altered.
